3 Tips to stay consistent over the holidays

The holidays are here, and we know how it goes—endless to-do lists, festive gatherings, and trying to keep it all together. It’s easy to let your fitness goals slip, but staying consistent doesn’t have to mean sacrificing holiday fun.

Here are three easy ways to keep moving while enjoying the season:

  1. Micro Workouts, Big Impact:
Think 15-20 minutes is too short to make a difference? Not true. A quick HIIT or strength circuit at home can give you a solid workout. Use moments like waiting for the oven timer to squeeze in squats, planks, or even a dance-off with your kids.
  2. Movement as Tradition:
Start or join an active holiday tradition. A brisk family walk before dinner, 2min dance party or a holiday game of twister run can bring people together while keeping you active. When I was growing up in New Zealand we used to play cricket on the beach after Christmas lunch. Unfortunately that's not such a winner here in the Midwest!
  3. Plan Ahead for Success:
If you're traveling, pack resistance bands or download a workout app. If you have house guests, schedule workouts early in the day before the busyness begins.

Consistency doesn’t mean perfection. Show up for yourself in small ways, and you’ll feel better when the New Year rolls in.

Here’s to a balanced holiday season!

PS: I've included a couple of 1minn dance party timers for you, hopefully there's a flavor for you!
